Canoeing - Canoeing provides a great opportunity to slow down and be a part of an activity that truly unites you with the water and nature. At Summit we can offer half day skills workshops on canoeing. We take our campers to Alice Lake where they learn canoe strokes, canoe safety and have the opportunity to paddle on the open water. At the end of each lesson we play a few games to keep the energy level high. On warm days campers can also take a dip in the lake.
Local Day Hikes - As a camp in the Sea to Sky Corridor, you certainly can't leave without 'seeing the sights.' Campers are taken on trips around Squamish to visit surrounding waterfalls, lakes and other natural points of interest on day hikes. With a variety of hikes, some of which are just minutes from Camp, our guides ensure we are setting up each cabin group for success with regards to the difficulty and technical components of the adventure.
Off-Site Climbing - Squamish is known as a 'hub' for climbers year round and we love to get our campers involved in the culture of climbing in safe and controlled environment! Located north of Camp in the heart of the Squamish Valley, our senior campers will have the opportunity to take on a local rock face to put their skills learned at Camp to the test! Our off-site climbing area is inspected and maintained regularly to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for our campers.
Off-Site Biking - Squamish is also well known for our expansive mountain biking routes and culture! For our more experienced riders, our off-site biking instructors will take small groups to some of our local riding spots including the Ray Peters Trail in Brackendale and Alice Lake.
Geocaching At Alice Lake - Campers now have the opportunity to put their geocaching skills to work as they travel around Alice Lake Provincial Park searching for our own set of Camp Summit Geocaches! Participating in a cache hunt is a good way for campers to learn how to navigate and take advantage of the wonderful features and capabilities of a GPS unit. GPS users can then use the location coordinates to find the caches which will then lead them to a fun surprise!
Anderson Beach - Located along the shores of the mighty Squamish River (just minutes from Camp!), our campers love to visit Anderson Beach for creative cabin activities, salmon habitat exploration and cozy beach fires! This protected site allows for campers to learn and explore about the natural world that surrounds Camp!
