Director of Outdoor Education Centre
At only the age of 7, Emily's dad put her on a plane from Calgary to Ontario, to Camp Tawingo. From that summer on, there was no turning back. Ten years as a camper, one year as a leader in training, and 5 years on staff, Emily had held positions including counselor, sports field director and her favorite, music director where she was able to direct 3 camp musicals. She then spent 3 years with the Tim Horton Children's Foundation, in Nova Scotia and Alberta, working as summer program coordinator and waterfront program facilitator.
Emily found a home at Camp Summit after a winter program in 2013. She then took on the role of the Assitant Outdoor Education Director where she was able to learn the ropes of what it takes to run a successful outdoor center. Her summer was spent with the senior campers of Summit, leading three canoe trips through the beautiful Powell Lakes of BC. In 2014, Emily took on the role of Director of Outdoor Education and Summer Senior Leadership Challenge Coordinator and has been loving life ever since.
Her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Alberta in Spanish and French, has helped her to appreciate the importance of effective communication, and know that word meaning and word choice is the difference between misunderstandings and successful verbal exchanges.
Her favorite parts about camp are staff training, the constant smell of nature, singing at campfires, and creating strong connections with kids. Emily brings a healthy dose of experience and lots of love for kids to the Summit team.
In her spare time Emily loves to run, play ultimate frisbee, do hot yoga, hike any mountain, or travel, preferably to Central America. She loves El Salvador where she spent one year teaching English at an orphanage and eating lots of pupusas, the national food.

Camp Summit's Dogs
|Ralph: The Park Family dog. An Australian Labradoodle born in November 2011. Ralph enjoys chasing squirrels, digging holes and finding places he can get wet.|
Rocky is an old soul with a big heart. He is Aaron's, our Program Director's partner in-crime when it comes to program management. It is hard to say what he enjoys more, plenty of pets, soaking in the sunshine OR staring down Squirrels with Ralph.
|Dalhousie: Marty's Dog. He is a real looker, a descendent of the Ewoks from Star Wars. Dalhousie enjoys hanging on Marty's porch, long walks and watching M.A.S.H reruns.|
