cAMPERSHIP FUND
The camping experience is transformative: it teaches cooperation, understanding, acceptance of others, sportsmanship and environmental ethics in a safe and supportive community. We have always felt that no child should be precluded from experiencing camp due to an inability to afford the registration fee.
In our history, we have been proud to sponsor over 150 children from the Sea to Sky corridor to share in the experience of summer camp and hope to see this number grow through this fundraising initiative. It is our hope to be able support a camper through their time at Camp Summit until their family no longer needs assistance – the more local children we can provide this for, the stronger a community we will help to sustain.
What does the Campership Fund do?
We have always felt that no child should be precluded from experiencing camp due to an inability to afford the registration fee. As such, we began our Campership Program as an ongoing initiative to support campers through their time at Camp Summit until their family no longer needs assistance. Thanks to the kindness and generosity of our Summit families and friends in our community, over 150 children have been given the gift of summer camp who otherwise would not have been able to attend.
How to receive campership support
If you are an existing family receiving campership assistance, you do not need to reapply each year. At the end of the summer, we will email you details on the registration details for the following summer.
If you are new family seeking assistance, please contact Rianne (rianne@campsummit.ca) with your interest. Intake of new families happens in September/October for the following summer. All information will remain confidential.
